Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo launched a new YouTube channel yesterday ( UR.CRISTIANO ) which has garnered more than 16 million followers in less than 24 hours, as the captain of Saudi club Al-Nasr takes a new step to consolidate his global popularity.
Ronaldo launched his new channel under the name “UR Cristiano” yesterday, Wednesday, and the number of subscribers exceeded one million people within the first 90 minutes only, then the number jumped to 5 million after 4 hours.
Within one day of the channel’s launch, the number of subscribers reached 16.6 million, and the first video clip he published just 20 hours ago, titled “When I met the most famous Cristiano”, garnered 11 million views.
This step reflects the 39-year-old athlete’s awareness of the importance of the content industry in supporting his popularity, legacy, and public image.
Ronaldo promised his followers that the channel will be a window into his life, and he will share content not only about football, but also his family, nutrition, health, business, and education.
