In Video :Russian and Syrian army repel combined mock UAV & USV attack in Tartus, Syria during exercise.

The Grouping of Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and units of the Syrian Arab Army repelled strikes of the mock enemy’s air and sea attack means at the Tartous base during the joint exercise, Russian MOD Said .

The enemy used attack drones and uncrewed surface boats to disable the port and infrastructure of military facilities. Russian and Syrian air defence units have hit targets imitating UAVs with Verba and Strela-10 man-portable SAMs.

The Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile system crews together with the crews of the Cadet anti-sabotage ship of the Black Sea Fleet and small missile ships of the Syrian Navy destroyed uncrewed surface vehicles attempting to break through the port’s internal harbour.

The servicemen were coordinated by the command of the Grouping of Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the leadership of the Syrian Arab Army with joint command posts set up in locations where the units were deployed on the territory of Syria.

In addition, as part of the exercise, Bastion coastal missile systems repelled an attempt to launch an attack from the sea by the mock enemy surface ship. According to the drills’ plans, the enemy’s landing ships moved towards the coast of Syria to land forces and gain a foothold. The missile system crews arrived early in the position areas where the servicemen deployed Bastion missile launchers.

The servicemen trained to deploy the systems for combat use and, without actual strikes, conducted electronic launches of missiles at surface targets in the Mediterranean Sea at a distance of more than 150 kilometres.
