A motorized convoy belonging to the militant group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) was obliterated by the Syrian Army in northern Hama province amid a failed attempt by jihadists to launch a counter-attack.
The incident happened a number of days ago, when Hayat Tahrir al-Sham mustered a shock troop unit for an attack on the government-held town of Az-Zakah (near Al-Latamaneh city) with the intent of retaking it.
In the event, the convoy was spotted well in advance by the Syrian Army and attacked with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM) at a stand-off range.
The convoy, which consisted of a number of technicals, as well as a DIY improvised armored personnel carrier design commonly seen in use with HTS forces, was caught-out in the open fields and systematically destroyed; a number of insurgent fighters were also killed.
Interestingly enough, the media arm of HTS filmed the convoy gathering up and departing to engage Syrian Army positions and the destroyed improvised APC design showcased in the footage above was also recorded in the HTS propaganda video.
