The Syrian army has discovered a mass grave of ISIS victims on the outskirts of al-Mayadeen town in Eastern Deir al-Zour countryside, a field source from Deir al-Zour said on Thursday.
The source added that up to 23 corpses of civilians, including a number of women, were found in the mass grave, stating that they had been executed by ISIS when the town was under their control.
Corpses of civilians killed by ISIS or the US-led coalition airstrikes are found on a daily basis in both Raqqa and Deir al-Zour provinces.
Media reports said last week that the dead bodies of over 60 victims killed in US-led coalition airstrikes and IS attacks had been discovered under the rubble in Raqqa city.
