The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) found Turkish-made chemical substances in ISIS depot near Hajin town in eastern Deir al-Zour countryside, the YPG media center said.
“Amid the ongoing sweeping operation by the YPG in the liberated areas of ISIS terrorists, our forces found Turkish-made Ammonia gas stored in ISIS depot near Hajin town in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour”. the statement read.
Ammonia is a colorless gas with a characteristic pungent smell, although common in nature and in wide use, ammonia is both caustic and hazardous in its concentrated form.
It is classified as an extremely hazardous substance in the United States, and is subject to strict reporting requirements by facilities which produce, store, or use it in significant quantities, meaning it can be used as a weapon in chemical warfare.
