Woman Announces 2020 Presidential Run Against Trump

Massachusetts Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren announced Saturday she was officially going to run for 2020 presidential race in the United States.

Warren has announced the formation of a support committee and she spoke to a group of her supporters in Lawrence, Massachusetts, at an old factory site where major labor strikes took place a century ago.

“The man in the White House is not the cause of what is broken, he is just the latest and most extreme symptom of what has gone wrong in America,” Warren said. “A product of a rigged system that props up the rich and powerful and kicks dirt on everyone else.”

Warren added: “It won’t be enough to undo the terrible acts of this administration.. Our fight is for big structural change.”

The 69-year-old former law professor, has been a senator from Massachusetts since 2012. Her political beliefs are often described as left-wing populism.

So far, Warren, one of the most likely Democratic candidates, with former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, her strongest rival in early primaries. Senators Kamala Harris, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, former Starbucks chairman Howard Schulz, Sen. Currie Booker, and others are also preparing for the presidential race.

Presidential elections are held in November 2020, and President Donald Trump is expected to nominate himself for a second term.
