ISIS claims suicide attack that targeted US forces in Manbij
Reports just emerged that the Islamic State terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack in Manbij.
The suicide attack which was carried out with an explosive belt targeted a Coalition patrol near Umara’ Castle restaurant.
Dozens of civilians gathered nearby were killed or injured while pictures depict two US Marines were downed- their fate still unknown.
This attack confirms that ISIS sleeper cells still maintain the operational capacity to carry out attacks in Manbij and Raqqa, just as they continue to carry out attacks in Hasaka and Deir Ezzor’s countrysides.
This comes amidst reports of Turkish Forces massing for an offensive against the Kurds east of the Euphrates and US preparations for a pull-out from the war-torn Middle Eastern country:
