Breaking: Russian military says it will target any country housing US nuclear missiles
The Russian military has announced that any nation housing US medium and short-range nuclear missiles will be targeted by Russia and fired upon in the event of a major war.
The announcement, made by Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, Valery Gerasimov, represents the somewhat inevitable conclusion of the scandal caused by clear-cut US plans to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.
Russia has criticized the move since day one of the American announcement to withdraw from the historic treaty, citing that it endangers European and international security and vowing a response. That response has now come.
It is known that the targeting of highly-strategic missile bases in the event of potential war will be done with nuclear weapons given that the sheer threat such sites pose means they need to be decisively knocked-out with one powerful punch.
In other words, Russia has now threatened to extend its nuclear response beyond American targets in the even of a major missile exchange between it and US forces to virtually any country that houses American medium and short-range nuclear-armed missiles.
