On Thursday early morning, the terrorist group of Hayyat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) launched a surprise offensive targeting the Syrian Army positions near Abu al-Duhur airbase in eastern Idlib province.

The attacking jihadists managed to infiltrate inside the towns of Masa’adah and Sukkariyah that located few kilometers west of Abu al-Duhur town. However, they couldn’t to hold their locations due to heavy Syrian artillery bombardment.

Few hours later, Syrian ground troops quickly moved to drive out the militants from the perimeter of the two villages, and they managed to secure the area. according to field sources.

Worth-notable that the (HTS) group rejected the Idlib demilitarized zone agreement that concluded in Sochi by the Russian president and his Turkish partnership in last September.
