Tahrir Al-Sham Occupies New Region in Aleppo after Brief Battle with Rival Group
Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) gained control of a new region in Northern Syria after heavy clashes with Nouralddeen al-Zinki terrorist group, local sources said on Saturday, adding that one of the terrorist commanders has been killed in the battle.
The sources in Aleppo said that Tahrir al-Sham has occupied the village of Miznaz in Southwestern Aleppo which was earlier under the control of Nouralddeen al-Zinki terrorist group.
According to reports, a military commander of Nouralddeen al-Zinki, namely Abdol Ramah, was killed in clashes with Tahrir al-Sham in Miznaz in Southeastern parts of al-Artab region.
The sources also said that Tahrir al-Sham militants attacked the village of Kafr Nouran, which is under the control of Nouralddeen al-Zinki terrorists, adding that the road linking al-Artab and Kafr Nouran was closed after clashes.
Meantime, heavy clashes among the terrorists blocked the Urum al-Soqra-Kafr Aleppo road in Western Aleppo.
Nouralddeen al-Zinki was part of Tahrir al-Sham until very recently. The group accompanies Tahrir in some battlefields, but it has been defying a growing number of orders by the umbrella coalition, asserting more independence.
In a relevant development late last month, a military commander of terrorist groups was assassinated in Western Aleppo as tensions heightened between Nouralddeen al-Zinki and Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at.
Field sources in Western Aleppo reported on Thursday that Nouralddeen al-Zinki commander Mohammad Ahmad al-Khatib was killed along with one of his aides by unknown gunmen in the town of Kafr Nasih.
Elsewhere, Turkey-backed Nouralddeen al-Zinki group affiliated to the National Liberation Front terrorist group arrested three militants for affiliation to Tahrir al-Sham in the town of Dar al-Izza in Western Aleppo.
After the development, Tahrir al-Sham terrorists sent their military equipment to the regions near Dar al-Izza, detaining a number of Nouralddeen al-Zinki militants in the village of Tal Adah in Western Aleppo.
Tahrir al-Sham militants also launched heavy attacks on the positions of Nouralddeen al-Zinki in Dar al-Izza with mortar fire.
Based on the report, hundreds of residents of Dar al-Izza have staged protest rallies against Nouralddeen al-Zinki terrorists.
