US-Backed Militia Dispatches Military Convoy to Regions Near Syrian Army Positions in Deir Ezzor

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) forwarded a long military convoy to energy-rich regions near the Syrian Army stronghold in Eastern Deir Ezzor on Tuesday.

The SDF sent a convoy of several vehicles and a large volume of military hardware to their positions on the Eastern bank of the Euphrates River.

In the meantime, local sources said that the SDF convoy will be deployed near Konico energy field near the army’s positions.

The sources said that dispatch of fresh convoy came after tensions intensified between the SDF and the army in the region.

The army had already urged the SDF to hand over the energy field to government forces.

Syria’s state-run news agency reported on Saturday that a sum of 62 civilians were killed and tens of others wounded after the US-led coalition fighter jets bombed heavily residential areas and two mosques in Southeastern Deir Ezzor in one day.

SANA quoted local sources as reporting that the fighter jets bombed al-Aliyat region in the small town of al-Souseh near the town of Albu Kamal in Southeastern Deir Ezzor and killed 15 civilians, including women and children.

It further said that a sum of 37 civilians were killed and tens more were wounded in another air attack by the coalition jets on Othman Bin Afan mosque in al-Souseh.

SANA went on to say that the warplanes also targeted Amar Bin Yasser mosque in the village of Albu Daran, killing 10 civilians and wounding dozens of others.

The death toll was expected to rise as some of the injured are in critical conditions.
