Erdogan: Turkish Military to Strengthen Presence in Idlib
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Tuesday that Ankara will strengthen military presence in Idlib and reinforce their established observation posts.
According to Erdogan, Turkey is working with their Russian partners to eliminate the radical groups in Idlib, while also dissipating the hostilities between the government and opposition, the AMN reported.
Turkey currently has twelve official observation posts in Northwestern Syria, with most of them concentrated in Idlib and Aleppo provinces.
The Turkish military also has an observation post in Lattakia that was not part of the Astana Agreement.
This Turkish observation post is located along the Northeastern slope of the Kurdish mountains; it overlooks much of the Jisr Al-Shughour District.
