Terrorists Prevent Civilians from Leaving Idlib for Syrian Army Points

Terrorist groups opened fire at Abu al-Dhohour humanitarian corridor amid the Russian and Syrian armed forces’ attempts to reopen the corridor for evacuation of civilians from militant-held regions in Southern Idlib, a Russian media outlet reported on Monday.

The Arabic-language website of Russia’s state news agency, Sputnik, reported that the Russian and Syrian forces are paving the ground for reopening of Abu al-Dhohour humanitarian corridor to evacuate civilians from terrorist-held regions in Idlib province.

It further said that terrorists carried out missile attacks on the corridor to prevent civilians’ exit and move toward regions that are under Syrian army’s control.

The Arabic-language website of RT reported on Sunday that the Ankara-backed National Liberation Front which includes a number of Free Syrian Army units stressed that it would not lay down arms and would never hand over their positions in Idlib in violation of the Sochi agreement endorsed by Ankara and Moscow over Idlib.

The Arabic RT further said that the National Liberation Front kept its gunmen on alert to counter the Syrian Army.

The report further quoted Russian President Vladimir Putin as saying that the entire heavy weapons of the militant groups, including cannons, mortars, tanks and missile systems must be taken out of the demilitarized zone.
