Map update: ISIS almost defeated in southern Syria, large stronghold town liberated

Aiming to clear the far Syrian southwestern corner from Islamic state (ISIS) jihadists, The Syrian military gained large stronghold town of “Al-Shajarah” following swift offensive launched on Monday morning.

Military reports have emerged that “last ISIS bastion of Al-Shajarh in western Daraa was restored to the government territories”

The recapturing of Al-Shajarah comes after liberating “Abdin” village that located to the north of it. [check out the map]

The liberated town was considered as main terrorist stronghold in the southern province of Daraa.

Worth-mentioning that the reconciled militants of the so-called “Free Syrian Army” have participated in the battle of Al-Shajarah, alongside the government troops, according to social media reports.
