Preparations underway for Damascus International Fair 60th edition

Preparations are underway at all levels in the General Establishment for Exhibitions and International Markets for the upcoming 60th edition of Damascus International Fair due to be held from September 6 until 15 2018 at Damascus Fairground City.
“The 60th edition of Damascus International Fair will be distinct in every sense of the word in terms of the number of the participant countries, the companies, the quality of exhibits, the expected numbers of the visitors, in addition to the size of the reserved fair stand,” Director of the General Establishment for Exhibitions and International Markets Fares Kartli told SANA reporter.
The current preparations include the structural aspect related to preparing the fairground and the marketing aspect.
Kartli clarified that there have been correspondences with several countries, companies and federations which have expressed desire to participate in the fair pending administrative and executive procedures to fix their fair stands reservations, adding that the General Establishment for Exhibitions exchanged correspondences with other fair establishments in the friendly countries , including Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Iran and other countries.
He pointed out that the upcoming edition is expected to witness large visitor turnout due to the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army that cleansed all areas in Damascus and its countryside of terrorism.
Damascus Fairground City includes six large international pavilions, the Syrian National pavilion, a sales market and a handicrafts market, in addition to service pavilions with outdoor exposed areas.
The First edition of the Damascus International Fair was held in 1954.
It had been annually held until 2011, but was cancelled for five years due to the terrorist war on Syria, to resume again in 2017.
