Syrian Army begins military operation against ISIS in Yarmouk Camp – Map

Syrian Army artillery and MLRS pieces began on Thursday afternoon of April 19th a barrage of strikes on ISIS positions in Hajar al-Aswad and Yarmouk Camp announcing the launch of a wide-scale military operation aimed at dislodging the terror group from Damascus.
Field sources confirmed to Muraselon that the Syrian Air Force participated by carrying out accurate and concentrated strikes on the militants’ front line positions while concurrent strikes target their HQs in the depth of Yarmouk Camp.
From its side, SANA revealed that Jabhat al-Nusra positions are also being targeted alongside ISIS’s entrenchments across southern Damascus.
Violent battles take place at the current time between Syrian Army units and Islamist insurgents underneath continued rocket bombardment of the front lines.
ISIS had reigned supreme over the region of Hajar al-Aswad and Yarmouk Camp for years after previously contesting the region with Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists.
