Syrian Air Force pummels Douma ahead of ground invasion
Fighter jets of the Syrian Army Air Force began, today, bombing insurgents’ positions in Douma city in response to rebel rocket attack, a military source said.
“Several targets and mortar launch-pads have been accurately hit by the fighter jets”, the source told.
The aerial bombardment indicates the decision taken by the Syrian government to take over the last rebel-held city by means of military force after Jaysh al-slam failed to fulfill the terms of agreement announced earlier with Russia.
“Jaysh al-Islam militants in Douma are hindering the agreement and refuse to be evacuated as per the deal”, the same source added.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Army is amassing forces ahead an expected full-scale military operation from four axes.
