Launch & Destroy: Russian naval jets take off from Mediterranean sea, overwhelms ISIS in Syria
The Russian ministry of defense has recently published a new combat footage from the Mediterranean sea near the Syrian cost of its operative Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier.
The footage backs to 2016, when the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier deployed in a combat mission to bomb the Islamic State targets (ISIS) across Syria.
The video shows Su-33 and MiG-29K naval warplanes in action, striking key militant targets including bases, convoy movements, positions and logistical centers throughout Syria.
On 15 November 2016, Admiral Kuznetsov, took part in “a large-scale operation against the positions of terrorist groups Islamic State and Al-Nusra, in the provinces of Idlib and Homs” in Syria by launching Su-33 fighter strikes.
The Russian Defence Ministry later reported that 30 militants had been killed as a result of those strikes, including 3 field commanders, among them Abul Baha al-Asfari, leader of Al-Nusra reserves in the provinces of Homs and Aleppo.
