Syria's deputy foreign minister talking about defending Afrin is nearer than ever – Report
Private source confirms to Al-Mayadeen media outlet that negotiations with the Syrian government will reach a practical result in the next few days, as words of Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Fayssal Mekdad about defending Afrin is around the corner.
This comes in light of the assertion that the Syrian government has supported the YPG militarily and transferred fighters from Al-Hasaka province to Afrin, through the Syrian territories.
What’s more, the Anatolia news agency reported that a military convoy belonging to the Turkish army arrived in the city of Ma’arat al-Nu’man south of the Syrian province of Idlib, in preparation for establishment the Sixth Monitoring center as part of the Astana agreement.
Also, The Turkish armed forces announced on 9 February that Turkish troops stationed in the village of Tal Toukan near Abu Adduhur in rural Idlib, with the aim of establishing the Seventh Monitoring Center under the Astana agreement.
