VIDEO | Turkish military vehicles head for Syrian border amidst Afrin operations
Turkish military vehicles were seen approaching the Turkish-Syrian border as ground operations against Kurdish forces in the northern Syrian region of Afrin continued on Tuesday.
The operation was launched on Saturday in a bid to oust armed Kurdish groups from Afrin, a region that lies on the border with Turkey.
Turkey considers the Kurdish YPG militia, which is active in northern Syria, to be a terrorist organisation and an extension of the banned militant group the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed to “sort out” the Kurdish enclave of Afrin in a televised broadcast in Ankara on Monday.
