Russia Wants To Preserve Current Iran Nuclear Deal – Russian FM

On Monday, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the Russian government “will work to preserve the existing Iran nuclear deal despite Washington threatening to withdraw from it.”

Other world power – including China – have also called on US President Donald Trump to stick to the current deal, warning that a new wave of economic sanctions against Iran would further destabilise the Middle East, and lead to an escalation in the crisis.

Trump has repeatedly insisted that the current agreement is a “bad deal”, and has called for a new deal with Iran.
