The battle for the eastern city of Deirr Ezzor has reached a critical phase with the Syrian Armed Forces storming ISIS-held districts.
Today, the Syrian Army’s elite Tiger Forces spearheaded a massive assault against ISIS militants on al-Baghiliyah District located in the northwestern flanks of the city.
The offensive has so far proved successful with the Army troops liberating several areas including al-Jazeera University and the main gas station.
With more than 75% of the district is now liberated, the government forces are hunting down the defeated ISIS jihadists, who conducted a massive escape from the battlefield.
Meanwhile, the pan-Arab al-Mayadeeen TV channel reported that the Syrian Army has already reached the Euphrates after seizing al-Baghiliyah water pumping station.
