Hama Map Update: Syrian Army foils jihadi offensive on north Hama .

A coalition of jihadi groups and opposition factions launched a fresh offensive against Syrian Army positions in the northern countryside of Hama.

According to a military source, the assault targeted in specific the government-held towns of Ma’an, Tal Bizam and Qasr Abu Samrah.

The assailants also shelled – with mortars and homemade rockets – other nearby villages. However, the well-prepared Army units successfully thwarted the attack, inflicting heavy losses upon the militants.

“Two tanks and one BMP vehicle for the jihadi group of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham have been destroyed in the failed attack,” the source added.

In the meantime, the Russian Air Force conducted several sorties against the jihadi groups in the towns of Atshan, Sukiek, Murek, Kafr Zita and al-Lataminah.

Pro-jihadi activists also reported heavy Russian airstrikes on al-Tamnaiyah, Khan Shiekoun, Ma’ar Zita and al-Hubiet; all located in the northern countryside of Idlib.

The same activists posted photos of destroyed headquarters and field hospitals which have been wrecked in the aerial bombardment.
