Syrian army foils Nusra assault in west Salamiyah countryside

The Syrian forces repelled, yesterday, a massive attack waged by jihadi groups on Army positions in the western countryside of Salamiyah city, Hama province.

According to a military source, jihadi militants from the Syrian al-Qaeda branch; Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and the FSA-affiliated Jaish al-Ezza launched an overnight attack on the southwestern outskirts of Tal Darrah town.

Fierce clashes lasted until this morning before the Syrian forces fully repel the offensive. At least 6 militants were killed, scores others injured in the failed assault.
