With the ultimate aim of reaching the eastern city of Deir Ezzor, the Syrian Army made a fresh push today with driving out the Islamic State from another village en route to the embattled city.
The government forces – spearheaded by the elite Tiger Forces – were capable, today, of taking over Haribshah; a small town located to the southwest of Deir Ezzor along Sukhna-Deir freeway (M20).
Earlier, the Army troops succeeded in gaining full control over Al-Bushairy mountaintop which overlooks yet two ISIS-held towns; namely Kobajjep and Ash-Shola.
This advance puts the Syrian forces some 50 km from Deir Ezzor to the southwest.
