Russian troops enter Kurdish city in north Aleppo [+Pictures]

Military vehicles carrying Russian troops have been seen entering the Kurdish city of Tal Rifaat in north Aleppo, social media activists said.

According to the same activists, the Russian Military Police has been deployed to Tal Rifaat in order to prevent the Turkish military from storming the Kurdish city.

Turkey has previously threatened to break in the city to crackdown on the People’s Protection Units (YPG); an ally of the Kurdistan’s Workers Party.

Last March, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that part of its Hmeimim-based reconciliation center will relocated to Afrin in north Aleppo to monitor the ceasefire.
