Combat footage shows Syrian Army takes ISIS-held town in east Homs

As part of its military campaign to reach the besieged eastern city of Deir Ezzor, the Syrian Army – backed by allied forces, continue to dislodge the Islamic State from the areas it controls deep in the Syrian Desert.

Recently, the government troops has entirely regained control over the town of Hymaymah located in the eastern countryside of Homs after fierce clashes with ISSI militants.

The recapture of the town puts the Syrian Army some 15 km from the administrative borders of Deir Ezzor; the Army’s final destination.

After ousting the Islamic State from its former desert stronghold, the Army’s engineering units began demining the explosives and IEDs planted by the terror group.
